Micropolis®

Micropolis® offers music classes for children from 12 months to 6 years of age. Directed by Margarita Savvidou Garrett, Micropolis® follows an innovative, proprietary curriculum that incorporates the latest research on creativity, learning, and musicality of children in the early years. In addition to providing foundational musical competencies, the Micropolis® curriculum has been carefully designed to develop the young child’s general education and self-confidence.

Starting from the first months of the child’s life, Micropolis® combines musical development with fun, physical activity, parental bonding, peer socialization, and broad cultural awareness. The sequence of classes culminates with the child taking their first steps towards the devoted study of a specific musical instrument.

Μουσική Παρέα®/ Music Buddies

ages 2-3

In Music Buddies, the parent continues to actively participate with the child in fun class activities. Specific musical concepts are introduced through themed units that incorporate singing, dancing, and playing percussion instruments. Like Music Cuddles, Music Buddies provides a caring environment in which the child has parental support as they learn both musical and social skills. Also like Music Cuddles, parents learn a variety of educational songs and activities through which they can play and interact with their children at home.

Μουσικοί Εξερευνητές® / Music Explorers

ages 3-4

By age 3, the children are able to begin exploring musical concepts on their own without parental assistance. The curriculum covers a number of musical concepts and skills through singing, movement, and playing percussion instruments. In a series of carefully sequenced thematic units, particular emphasis is given to learning about orchestral instruments.

Μουσικά Ταξίδια® / Music Journeys

ages 4-5

Music Journeys guides children through their discovery of world music. Students are introduced to the specific instruments, songs, dances, rhythms, and melodies from the world’s many musical cultures. In addition to developing the children’s musical skills, the class provides a broad introduction to cultural studies, including geography, language, clothing, food, and more. The children thus have the opportunity to become culturally aware in a fun, creative, and exciting way!

Μουσικοί σε Δράση® / Musicians in Action

ages 5-6

In these classes, children begin to apply their previously learned skills to create their own musical works and experiences. They have the opportunity to learn about various music genres, along with famous composers, artists, and pieces from specific historical periods. Within this framework, they learn to apply fundamental music concepts such as meter, form, melody, rhythm, tone color, dynamics, and tempo in their own compositions and creative musical expressions. This assists them in acquiring a deeper understanding of the elements of music and lays a strong foundation for learning any instrument in the future.

Πιανοπεριπέτειες® / Piano Excursions

ages 6-7

Piano Excursions serves as the first stage of learning to play the piano for children in the first grade of school (6 to 7 years old). Our method combines in-class music instruction with piano teaching in small groups. Class instruction emphasizes ear-training, rhythm, theory, and improvisation to reinforce a smoother application of these concepts on the piano. Piano instruction takes place in small groups of up to four students of similar age and musical abilities. At this stage, it is helpful but not mandatory for the student to have a piano or keyboard at home to practice the skills and concepts learned in class.
